Top low toxic kitchen swaps

Top low toxic kitchen swaps

I get asked a lot about what changes I have made to my life since having cancer. Aside from switching to natural skincare and make-up brands to lower my and my family’s exposure to chemicals being absorbed via the skin, the kitchen is the second area I have focused on. Small changes can reduce the amount of toxic chemicals we are ingesting via our food preparation. My no no’s and simple replacements are below.

🚫 Plastic chopping boards, micro plastics chip off and end up in your food.
🚫 Plastic Tupperware, never heat anything in the microwave in plastic containers. The plastic will leak into your food and then you ingest it.
🚫 Non-stick pans
🚫 Drinking tap water
🚫 Plastic cups and plates
🚫 Plastic water bottles

🚫Tea bags, release microplastics into tea when brewed with hot water

🚫Take away coffee cups, lining releases microplastics into drink when brewed with hot water

 Replace with:
Wooden chopping boards
Glass Tupperware
Cast iron or stainless steel pans
Water filter (doesn’t need to be an expensive one, recommendations below)
Bamboo plates and cups for kids
Metal drink bottles

✅Lose leaf tea and metal strainer

✅Keep cup for take away coffee

My splurge and save recommendations for water filters would be:

I have just found out about your skin care range. I finished Breast cancer treatment just over 2 years ago. 16 chemotherapy & 15 Rays. I am 50 & am post menopausal from the treatment but dealing with all the side effects of menopause. What do you recommend I start with I have rosacea & my nose is often red. I have fair & dry skin. Looking forward to trying out your products. Thanks 💕
